Your Swim School
Your Swim School offers a swimming lesson programme from babies through to adults at all of our leisure centres. With Swim England qualified instructors, our courses will provide a sound foundation for every pupil’s swimming progression into other aquatic activities whether they are competitive or recreational.
Our lead teachers are all Level 2 qualified through Swim England and we also use Level 1 assistance for specific classes.
Your Swim School follows the National Guidelines and each class is based on the Swim England National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS).
Classes are also based on continual assessment of individual children and therefore run seamlessly throughout the year enabling children to move stages at their own pace.
You can also view your progression through the 'Your Swim School Home Portal'.
About Swim School
We understand that children progress at different rates and therefore Your Swim School lessons are based on continual individual assessment allowing for pupils to develop and progress at their own level.
Your Swim School teachers use iPod's on poolside to complete registers, are alerted of medical conditions and complete assessments on each student. Swimming teachers update the iPods every lesson to keep a track of each pupil's achievements which can be viewed by parents through the 'Your Swim School Portal'.
You will also receive email alerts when your child is ready to take the next step. You will be able to view the availability of class through the Your Swim School Home Portal and move your child into the next stage.
It is also vital that medical conditions are kept up to date so that the teacher can be made aware of any changes. If your child has a medical condition or circumstance change, please see our reception team who will update their details.
If you need help in getting started with 'Your Swim School Portal', please see a member of our customer service team.

Need A Little More Help?
Private swimming lessons are a good way of speeding up your child's progress and are available at each of our Centres.
Private lessons usually give fast results due to being an intense 30 minute lesson so are ideal for those wanting fast results. By having one to one lessons the student gets individual attention and can have each lesson tailored to their needs. When having two-to-one lessons it is important that the two swimmers are of a similar ability.
Another option to enhance your child's swimming are our crash courses. These are run during school holidays and offer 3-5 days of intensive lessons and can be used to improve your child's progress through the stages.
For more information on private lessons or crash courses please speak to a member of our customer service team.
