Your Leisure is here to help you "Live Better"! Whether you are new to exercise or looking for somewhere new to work towards your health and fitness goals, Hartsdown Leisure Centre, Margate Thanet is the right place for you. The leisure centre offers a wide range of group exercise classes, has a fully equipped gym with TechnoGym machines and free weights, two swimming pools (main pool and teaching pool), swimming lessons with Your Swim School, our Hartsdown Gymnastics Centre and the famous FeelGood Factory plus a sports hall with badminton, table tennis and more. Hartsdown Leisure Centre is a cashless facility.
Our Customer Support Team is available Mon-Fri, 8am - 5pm and Sat/Sun 8am - 2pm.
Please note that activities can be booked online and in centre, payment by card only. Non-members can book 5 days in advance, members can book as per their membership's advanced booking perk.
Hartsdown Swimming Pool
For your enjoyment we have put together a number of different sessions that aim to assist in your enjoyment of our pools and accommodate a variety of users. Swimming sessions are open to members and non-members to be booked online. Session descriptions can be viewed via the pool timetables. All swimmers need a booking. Read Pool Admission Policy here.
25m Main Pool: Deep end 2.25m – Shallow end 1m
12m Teaching Pool: Deep end 1m – Shallow end 0.75m
NB: When booking an Open Swim just select Lane 1 when the booking system asks; there are no lanes for an Open Swim Lane 1 books a place in the pool.
Book online via "Search & Book" or using the Live Better app. Timetables subject to change, always check online booking system and app for changes. Gaps during days are for private pool hire and swim schools.
NB: ** Aqua Aqua & Active Aqua sessions are available to book through the Group-Ex programme not swimming.
NB: All swimmers (including 0-15 year olds) must have a session booking to enter the pool, either a paid online booking in advance or booked online and paid for on the day in centre (card only) or booking as part of a valid membership.
NB: Please note, once a session is full, no more bookings can be made online or in centre.
NB: When booking an Open Swim just select Lane 1 if the booking system asks; there are no lanes for an Open Swim Lane 1 books a place in the pool.
NB: Only Parent & Toddler*** sessions include a joint booking for 1 Child (0-4 years) and 1 Adult (16+) to enter the pool under one booking. All other swimming sessions require an individual booking per swimmer - Example, 4 swimmers = 4 bookings (***excluding Tides where you can book multiple spaces on one booking for Parent & Toddler - please check Pool Admission Policy for Ratios).
NB: Only Disabled Swim sessions include a joint booking for 1 Service User and 1 Carer to enter the pool under one booking. All other swimming sessions a holder of a carers' membership can accompany the 'cared for' free of charge but these sessions require two individual bookings to admit two people into the pool. Hartsdown Gym
Our TechoGym and free weight equipment is ideal for all user levels and includes a comprehensive range of cardio and strength equipment covering upper, lower and total body routines, ensuring exceptional training comfort along the way. Our friendly and professional trainers will always be on hand to support you in your goals.
We recommend all members pre-book gym time on the app prior to arrival so you can scan and go straight in. Junior members need to book in advance using the Live Better app. Non-members can book in on the day using our reception kiosks (card payment only).

Exercise with friends and family and receive the support of our trained group exercise class leaders. Your Leisure centres offer more exercise classes than the competition - including our own classes, world-class Group-Ex experiences designed by LesMills and virtual classes. Group-Ex is fun, motivational and classes can be booked online.

Hartsdown FeelGood Factory
Our FeelGood Factory at Hartsdown offers a revolutionary way to lose weight via a completely unique 50-60-minute workout using power assisted equipment. This low impact exercise is ideal for people with osteoporosis, mobility problems, joint problems, poor posture, muscle tone problems.

Hartsdown Sports Hall
Hartsdown Sports Hall offers table tennis and badminton. You can also book the whole hall for netball and 5-a-side football. Contact the centre for more details.

Your Swim School
Children's Swimming Lessons from 4 years+ & Adult Lessons
Your Swim School is delivering Swim England-accredited swimming lessons in Margate, Ramsgate and Deal.
Learning to swim is a great way to maintain a healthy lifestyle, develop a new life skill and be water safe, especially living by the coast. Your Leisure partners with Swim England to teach their Stages 1-7 Learn To Swim programme. Classes are also based on continual assessment of individual children and therefore run seamlessly throughout the year enabling children to move stages at their own pace.
Swim School students also get free swimming at our centres so they can practice beyond lessons*
Hartsdown Gymnastics Centre
Here at Hartsdown Gymnastics Centre, our aim is to provide fun, active sessions whilst teaching gymnastics skills. Our sessions are age-based and all abilities are welcome. Our team of coaches not only teach the skills but help build the gymnast's self-confidence. Gymnastics benefits children's cognitive and physical development by improving gross and fine motor skills, strength, flexibility, balance, agility and coordination. Hartsdown Gymnastic Centre students also get free swimming at our centres during open sessions, ask at reception for details.
